From a young age, I have considered arguments and persuading others a challenging skill that needed improvement. This could have been the case because English was a second language, but I knew that to increase my progress in it, there was a need to communicate better. I acknowledged at the beginning of the semester that I lacked in experience with different types of communication: the only medium that I usually incorporated to persuade others or give a statement has always been a essay; I haven’t considered what the audience may want to hear; and I have evaded constructions and designing websites and presentations out of unfamiliarity. The course “Science in Public” introduced me to actively use other mediums such as videos, audio, websites, and presentations, and it also made me aware about how the mode, media, and tone changes according to the audience.
